United States Stock Market Index (US30) – 2022 Data – 1896-2021 Historical

US stock futures inched lower on Monday after the major averages sold off last week, as the Federal Reserve’s steadfast commitment to bringing down inflation and the increasing likelihood of a hard economic landing rattled markets. Futures contracts tied to the three major index drifted flat to slightly negative. Last week, the Dow fell 4% to its lowest levels since November 2020, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite tumbled 4.65% and 5.07%, respectively. Those moves came as the Fed raised interest rates by 75 basis points for the third time in a row as inflationary pressures remain elevated. The central bank also put an end to all hopes for a dovish pivot, seeing rates rising as high as 4.6% in 2023 with no rate cuts until 2024. Investors now look ahead to the Fed-preferred PCE data, as well as durable goods and consumer sentiment figures this week. Several Fed officials are also scheduled to speak at various events this week.

Historically, the United States Stock Market Index (US30) reached an all time high of 36952.65 in January of 2022. United States Stock Market Index (US30) – data, forecasts, historical chart – was last updated on September of 2022.
